Ojibwe Language
Ojibwe language is one of the pieces in the foundation of our cultural identity. Lac Courte
Oreilles Schools is committed to providing a bilingual educational environment for
ALL students.
OVERVIEW of the Ojibwe Language Department:
- Ojibwe Language will be offered in the FACE program
- Pre K & Kindergarten classes will have a dedicated, INCLUSIVE Ojibwe language instructor devoted to building a foundation of language fluency within math and reading.
- Grades 1-12 will continue to have regularly scheduled classes.
- Four years of Ojibwe Language will continue to be required for graduation
ALL teachers, staff and employees will continue to support Ojibwe language
learning, usage and fluency. We take every opportunity to speak the language in
EVERY class, EVERY day
