Description
Directly responsible to the Director of Special Education and Elementary Principal
Knowledge of math strategies in content areas and instructional strategies to improve math skills through
coaching, co-teaching and collaborative work with teachers.
Ability to attend training and prep time to self-motivate to learn and implement tier 3 interventions
Must have a strong commitment to improving student math skills.
Ability to support classroom teachers to provide instruction to allow students success in core math.
Knowledge of tier 2 interventions and monitoring implementation in the classroom through teacher
collaboration
Responsible for facilitating a tier 3 math intervention component for K-5 including student scheduling
Responsible for weekly progress monitoring students using tools provided
Monitor and intermittently assess students for placement in and dismissal from tier 3 intervention
Assists in school events such as, but not limited to; assemblies, powwows, student awards programs,
graduation, other duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a Wisconsin DPI license/ Math Teacher license preferred.
Ability to work using a team approach with regular education and intervention staff.
Experience in teaching Native American youth preferred.
Must be supportive of the philosophy, concept, policy and procedures of the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe
School-Waadookodaading.
Native American preference in employment.
