Smart Goals

The Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe School in partnership with stakeholders annually develops, implements, and evaluates a comprehensive support and improvement plan for the school to improve student outcomes.  Our annual Needs Assessment documents how we use data to reach outcomes and examines student, teacher, and school community strengths and needs. From our Needs Assessment we annually set Smart Goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Time-bound) for the upcoming year.

2025-2026 Smart Goals:
 #1- 80% of all secondary (grades 6-12) will reach projected growth set on NWEA Measures of Academic Progress Reading and Language Usage assessments from fall 2025 to spring 2026;
 #2- The schoolwide Chronic attendance rate will be reduced from the current 16.07 % to 11.00% and from 59.2 of students chronically absent, to less than 45% of students chronically absent.
#3- Given RISE guided reading intervention, elementary students will increase their guided reading level letter to end of year expectation using a running record assessment from a baseline of 53% to 63% overall by the end of the school year.
