Description
Directly responsible to the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe School K-12 Principal.
Develop and implement K-5 Music programs for the LCO.
Coordinate inclusion with the Waadookodaading Ojibwe Language Institute (WOLI) administration for
immersion students as needed.
Responsible for record-keeping of all Music classes, i.e.: lesson planning, attendance, grade reports,
quarterly reports, class scheduling, proficiency/deficiency reports, etc.
Make efforts to incorporate Ojibwe Language and Culture as curriculum and time allows.
Work to develop and implement consistent annual curriculum reflecting relevant standards.
Meets with parents, in conjunction with the Principal, and Counselor regarding student
proficiency/deficiency reports, disciplinary measures and attendance.
Works with the Home/School Coordinator and Counselor concerning parent home visits and in-school
conferences.
Responsible for ordering classroom curriculum, resource and materials for Music Department.
Attend staff meetings and participate in school wide professional development.
Assist in school events such as, but not limited to, art show, powwows, assemblies, and graduations.
Other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements
Wisconsin licensure preferred.
Must be supportive of the philosophy, concept, policy and procedures of the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe
School.
Native American preference in employment.
